What do you receive?

- Full £200 credit if you later licence the same material
Why a £200 fee?
- Cold-store retrieval – Betacam and film reels live in climate vaults. A technician must fetch and log each tape.
- Real-time capture – A 40-minute reel takes 40 minutes to digitise, plus QC and encoding.
- Manual watermark & upload – We add slate and time-code, then push the file to our server.
- Archive integrity – Databases, shot lists, and lab notes are updated for every request.
- Industry standard – Major archives such as Getty Images, BBC Motion Gallery, British Pathé, and Reuters charge similar research or pull fees (often £75–£150 per hour). Our flat £200 keeps costs predictable and fair as it takes at least 2 hours.

Is there a length limit per tape?
One tape per preview, up to 60 min total.
Need more than one tape?
Order additional previews at GBP 200 each.
Will the watermark be removed after purchase?
Yes—licensed masters are delivered logo-free in ProRes HQ or 10-bit MOV.
Can I pay with crypto?
No. We accept bank transfer, Visa/Mastercard, or PayPal Business only.
Why We Charge for Custom Previews
Respecting the archive — respecting our time
- Every reel lives in cold storage.
Retrieving Betacam or film masters requires staff, climate-safe handling, and logging. - Digitisation happens in real time.
A 30-minute segment takes 30 minutes to capture, plus QC and file encoding. - Watermarking and upload are manual.
We add slate, burn-in timecode, then push the file to WeTransfer. Nothing is automated. - Archival notes must be updated.
Each request generates metadata, clip IDs, and database entries for future searches. - The fee protects the service for serious users.
Without a modest charge, we would spend days on unpaid previews.
The GBP 200 covers technician time and bandwidth and is fully credited if you license.
